WHO WE ARE Kick
The Squirrel is a longform improv group from Portland, OR. They
were formed in the spring of 2003 in an improv class taught by Nate
Halloran (The Brody Theater, Big Belly, Fort Hal.) After two months of
intense training from Halloran they performed their inaugural show at
the Hollywood Theatre as part of the "Ulysses Project." Since
then Kick The Squirrel have performed over 80 shows all over the
northwest in venues such as The Brody Theater, The Backdoor Theater, The
CoHo Theatre, and The Historic University Theater in Seattle. KTS
has done private and charity shows for various organizations such as
Wilson High School, The Portland Mercury, and the Oregon Food Bank. They
also performed in the 2005 Out Of Bounds Improv Festival in Austin, TX
and The 2006 DC Comedy Fest in Washington, DC, the 2007 Milwaukee Sketch
and Improv Festival. the 2007 Portland Improv Invitational, and are the hosts
of the
Annual Portland Comedy Festival. Over the past 4 years KTS have created many different original formats including “Bluesprov,” an improvised ode to the blues, “Dating Videos,” where you get to see the stories behind the tapes, and “Enhancing America with Kick The Squirrel”, an improvised news magazine. They’re goal is to create a format that highlights not just the comedic elements of improvised theater, but also the realistic and dramatic as well. They have developed a dedicated following who refer to themselves as “Squirrel Kickers.” Kick The Squirrel aims to spread unscripted theater as far as humanly possible and to push the limits of the comedy world as a whole. Kick The Squirrel is available for private parties, charitable events, and corporate workshops. For more info on booking click here to check out "Booking" section.
